Z & Y Bistro is a great dining for your next date night in San Francisco. With affordable and delicious entrees that are easy to share, you’ll impress your partner with your culinary prowess. Combined with our impressive wine list, upscale contemporary decor, and convenient Chinatown location, the Bistro offers a lot of value. But what about the rest of the date night?
Whether you’re just getting acquainted or have been together for years, you need to get out and have some fun! Fortunately, San Fransisco offers no shortage of options for fun date night activities. Here are some great options around San Francisco to consider.
The California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park is a treasure trove of knowledge, artifacts, and fun. But, it’ll cost you about $80 for two if you go during the day. Pick Thursday night as your date night, and it’s just half that price, with several full bars and a DJ.
Play tourist for the day and hop on the ferry to either Sausalito or Tiburon. You can rent bicycles on the other side to explore, get brunch or dinner, sit and watch the water, or just stroll through the quaint shops.
If you’re longing to relive your pre-teen years, you can head over to the Church of 8 Wheels at Fillmore & Fell Street. A DJ spins disco and old-school funk music while you and your date skate around a historic converted church. There are adults-only sessions each weekend, but no bar on the premises.
Nothing brings a couple together like laughter. Sure, you can generate hilarity on your own, but it’s also fun to let someone else entertain you for a bit. San Francisco has two large comedy clubs – The Punch Line and Cobb’s – as well as several small ones that can fit the bill.
It’s not just what you watch but “where” you watch it that can make a night at the movies with your beloved special. The San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation sponsors several unique events that you’ll want to check out. First, the Mostly British Film Festival happens in February. There is also Film Night in the Park with films under the stars from July through October in different parks around the city.
Bars are fine for what they offer, but who wants to just sit around and drink? Instead, you and your date can upgrade your happy hour with a round of virtual golf. Head over to Eagle Club Indoor Golf on Folsom Street, where you can play 18 virtual holes or just hit balls on the virtual driving range. And, once you’ve figured out who’s the better golfer, you can hit those standard happy hour bars in the area for some refreshments.
If you’d rather play games and enjoy your libations at the same time, check out Emporium SF on Divisadero St. Located in the Historic Harding Theater, you and your date will enjoy dozens of arcade games, pinball machines, pool tables, foosball tables, air hockey, and shuffleboard. While you “play,” you can choose from craft beers and mixed cocktails, wine, and can even bring in your own food.
San Francisco is one of the most exciting and romantic cities in the country. From the affordable to the fancy, you and your date have a ton of options beyond just the standard dinner and a movie (although that’s nice too). Use this list to make your next date night one you’ll both remember.
